come at me bro // 2016

So little update on life before getting started on a few new years resolutions, which I usually don't do, but I'm feeling kind of motivated about this. I want to make some changes this year. For one thing, I applied for and have an interview for my first official job as a shelver at the local library. It's super cute ft open brick, downtown, and all the people are really sweet, so pls pray I get it. I also sprained my wrist ice skating yesterday which was sad cause I had to miss Star Wars afterwards but ok. So happy though cause we really thought it was broken and it was super swollen, but now I have a splint and it's ok. In other news I got a yoga mat and an eno and money for a mountain bike so maybe I'll actually do things this year hahahahahha. I slept in the eno a few days after christmas in the woods with cousins and bros because NC's 70 degree weather??? Also, got a teapot and waffle maker and have been drinking plenty of tea and eating plenty of waffles.

So there you go. 2015 was a great year. Actually a really great year. Maybe even my best yet. I finished my first semester of community college, got baptized, went on my first missions trip, got my permit, went on first road trip with sis to Florida to see baes, sister met her soulmate and got engaged (?!♥) and lots of other stuff. There were a lot of changes, renewal of old friendships, deepening of relationships, and lots of growth. So, now I feel really thankful and I can't handle it. I LOVE JESUS SO MUCH.

// a few minor resolutions //
>> do yoga daily + gym membership ???
>> put away social media on Sundays
>> put away all electronics at least an hour before bed
>> take 5 minutes to write my flow of thought at the beginning of each day for perspective + more journaling
>> dessert on the weekends only lol maybe
>> be more informed on current events + listen to or read the briefing by Albert Mohler daily
>> set strict sleep schedule (!!!)
>> cook dinner at least once a week
>> stand up while doing school work
>> go outside daily even for short walk
>> prayer journal every single day + talk to God about my anxieties and doubts and fear don't be afraid to get real with the One who knows my every thought and loves me the same
>> write out schedule/to do list for next day the night before
>> set my mind on things above + shine brighter for Christ (there's this verse romans 13:12 and you should go look it up)

Okay. I think that's it (although I'll definitely think of a lot more things that I want to add later and may or may not edit the post to add). SO PLEASE TELL ME CAUSE I NEED INSPIRATION, do you have any resolutions?? Or do any of these sound like something you'd like to do?

ps. You all have been a fantastic part of my year. All of you are lovely inside and out and make the world a better place. ^-^ Every single one of your comments brightens my day. You guys make me feel good about writing and make me happy that I decided to stick with this old blogging idea. (esp last post I was so nervous posting and yalls comments just lkjaflkjdsl) So thank you all a million times and best wishes for the greatest year yet <3 <3

I know it makes it harder to fall asleep but I AM JUST SOOO TEMPTED. Gah. I'm liking the "no electronics on Sundays" idea, too.... but mannnn that would be hard. But good. But work. Haha. I hope this year is fantastic and full of growth for you!! :) xx

    1. Hahaha, thanks Olivia ;) I know. O.O I was just standing by the kitchen countertop typing and I just kept coming up with stuff. Now I look back on it and I'm like maayyybe I should've chilled out a little bit. UGH ME TOO. It's so bad. Hahaha, don't feel too bad! my first Sunday with "no electronics" was a failure. But I'll work up to it! *false confidence* Haha, thank you! Hope your year is the loveliest yet xx

  5. Happy 2016!!! Your goals are so great, gah. I love the no-social media-on-Sunday rule, although gosh that would be hard. My biggest goal is probably to do a LOT more journaling, because I want to remember everything:) xx Hope that you have the best year yet, my dear.

    1. THANKS GRACE! Me too. Yeah, it's harder than I even thought it would be! My first social media free Sunday was hardly better than a failure. Hhaha, but that's okay- it's a work in progress, right? YES. Journaling is way up there. That's something that's so important to me. You too, love, thanks for commenting! xx

  6. GIRL I'VE MISSED SO MANY OF YOUR POSTS HOW DO I ALWAYS MANAGE TO DO THAT??? It's not right, it's really not. Ugh. Anyhow, here I am now. And I love the title of this post. ;) Dude, that job sounds fantastic! And so dreamy. ^.^ (does anyone use that term anymore? idek, it's 2016 oops..) I really hope you get it because you deserve an awesome job like that. UGH NOOOO sprained wrists aren't fun! Ice skating is some dangerous stuff. But I love it so much it's an unhealthy relationship really. xD AAAAAH so the camping thing sounds amazing a story-worthy. And gah, yes, lots of changes for everyone this year it seems...but changes can be awesome. ;) "I LOVE JESUS SO MUCH." < you said it, girl.

YOGA. yes. yoga. ♥ is so lovely. I started doing it like three years ago and it's a healthy addiction now. x) Plus it's so easy with YT, because FREE YOGA CLASSES all over the place. crazy, awesome. crazy awesome. Ooh, I like that resolution about social media. I've been thinking about how busy I always keep myself and now I'm just trying to figure out whether or not I should pick a day each week for resting. MAYBE??? idk. "...talk to God about my anxieties and doubts and fear don't be afraid to get real with the One who knows my every thought and loves me the same." < literally that is the most beautiful resolution I've heard from anyone thus far. ♥ same here. One of my favorite times to spill my guts to Jesus is during Savasana. x) idk it's just like INCREDIBLY PURGING. in a good way.

Basically I have only one resolution this year: be more present. I'm always so tied to schedules and to-do lists and needing to know what happens next... I'm so looking forward to the future that I miss what's happening right now. And I don't wanna miss it. So yeah. :)

THIS POST HAS INSPIRED ME. YOU INSPIRE ME. Have a blessed New Year. ♥

    love,
    abbiee

p.s. did I ever tell you how gorgeous your handwriting is? like every time you post a photo on insta of your journals or something I'm just like... "me. want." IT'S AWESOME. oki bye. x)

    1. DUDE I MISSED YOU :* BUT IT'S OKAY I DO THE SAME THING CONSTANTLY SORRY IN ADVANCE IT'LL PROBABLY HAPPEN AGAIN SOON. (OH but I have one request. I just came back and added this- can you read the post before this one, called "bruised"? I really want your opinion on it and I can't help but ask EE SORRY ♥) No, dreamy is definitely still a relevant word. Use it forever, babe. Thank you ^-^ < I don't know specifically what I'm saying that to but everything you say makes me happy and blush-y so I think it's applicable. Ugh, I know. I always wanted to be an Olympic figure ice skater till I get out there and fall on my butt (or wrist in this case). Haha, yes camping is beautiful. Maybe I'll share some about it someday. ;)
YES YOGA. I am so excited to get more into it. Yoga is just ♥♥♥ YES DO IT. Definitely. I mean Sunday is meant to be a day of rest anyway! I guess God knew we'd need a break day of rest and chill and stuff. ;) He's so great like that. I just love how he knoews me in my human nature and weakness!!! it's so great. okay anyway, yeah, I think you should, haha. "literally that is the most beautiful resolution I've heard from anyone thus far."<< why are you so nice to me *happy cries* Wow. Savasana + Jesus? That sounds life giving.
GREATEST RESOLUTION EVER. Okay so, adding that one to my list now. ;) Also another all encompassing one is to be intentional. In everything say and do to have purpose. That would be good.
WHAT NO YOU INSPIRE ME MORE I LOVE YOU. Have the most loveliest year yet. ♥
ps. jglfkjdlkj thanlkdfljdk yousldkfjdlkjfld/♥ you're positively dreamy xD

    1. Hahahaha, same when I read your resolution about it! Well I'm doing dual enrollment right now, so I'm taking three high school level courses. But at the same time I'm taking three other college level courses at the local community college. These are free and the count for both high school and college credit!!! It's great. So kinda in high school, but kinda not. ;) Thank you so much- that means so much! My interview is tomorrow soo, *fingers crossed* Same to you, Leah! <3 Thanks for commenting!

  13. What, your year was awesome! Mission trips, sisters getting engaged, friendships... Amazing!

And speaking of great, your resolutions are pretty spot on. I should really steal some of them, especially the one about no electronics an hour before (my hopefully more strict) bedtime. Also, the prayer journal thing isn't something I've done consistently but I think would help me a lot. Really, you have some great goals this year, but we must continue to remind ourselves that Jesus has already done it all. I know I can get so goal oriented that I feel the pressure to do it all by myself. But Jesus already saved me completely. And so, as we already know, we both won't finish all of our goals. But if we makes ou main goal Jesus, He will keep it for us for all eternity.

I think I just preached at you. Whoops! Keep us posted on how these resolutions are turning out. Maybe some tips about bedtime, hehe!
